A device that is used to increase the humidity or moisture in a single room or a complete house is called a Humidifier. Point-of-use humidifiers are mainly used in humidifying a single room and whole-house furnace humidifiers for entire building. To increase a patient’s comfort, humidifiers are used in medical ventilators. Industries, institutions and commercial areas use large humidifiers. Vacker Africa supplies Humidifiers in different countries of Africa such as Kenya, Djibouti, Tanzania, Chad, Angola, Libya, Algeria, Niger, Congo, South Africa, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Morocco, Nigeria, Ghana, Congo-Pacific, Zimbabwe, etc.
In desert climates and artificially heated spaces, low humidity may occur. Low humidity has an adverse effect on the human body. Low humidity dries out the mucous membrane and also causes respiratory pain. Shrinkage and loose joints or cracking off pieces of wooden furniture are also caused due to low humidity.
In conditions of low humidity, inert energy becomes a big issue. It can destroy semiconductor devices that cause inert cling of textiles that can cause dust and small particles to electrically charged surfaces. If a humidifier is overused, dust and molds increases which can cause humidifier lung.
Industrial Humidifiers
The humidifiers that are used to maintain a special humidity level to discard material properties, static electricity build up and guarantee fit and easy environment for workers and inhabitants. Static problems like printing, textiles, plastics, packaging, manufacturing and pharmaceuticals occur in industries. This is because of low humidity. So, an industrial humidifier is used in order to discard such problems. To prevent shrinkage and paper curling, printers and paper manufacturers also use industrial humidifiers. Humidifiers supplied by Vacker Africa can be used in various fields. Art museums take the help of humidifiers in order to protect perceptive artworks, cold rooms use humidifier to preserve the freshness of food.
Portable Humidifiers
These humidifiers are of different sizes and types. It can be from a small table-top to large floor-rise unit. The water is generally provided by hand filling the unit periodically.
Evaporative Humidifiers
Evaporative humidifiers are the most common and portable humidifier that consists of a fan, wick and a reservoir. It is also called Wick Humidifier or Cool Moisture Humidifier. The wick is made up of material that consists of pores which help in absorption of water from the tank or reservoir. Evaporation is done with the help of a fan which is adjusted to the humidifier.
Natural Humidifiers
Natural humidifiers are non-commercial devices that are installed with low-cost or free. A natural humidifier uses a stainless steel bowl that is filled with water partially. The stainless steel bowl is easy to clean and the bacteria cannot grow. The fan is not needed as the water spreads through a towel by the action of capillarity. But these humidifiers are non-commercial devices.
House plants can also be taken as a good example of natural humidifiers. They use the process of transpiration as they evaporate water into the air.
Vaporizers
A steam or a warm mist humidifier heats water that results in discharging steam into the air. These types of humidifiers are commonly known as vaporizers. They discharge steam and moisture into the air with the action of vaporization. Sometimes we add medicated inhalants to the steam vapour so that it is soothing to the users, especially if they are suffering from coughs etc. In general practice, vaporizer type of humidifiers are chosen over other forms of humidifiers that spray cool mist in the air because the vaporized air carry additional health benefit than cool mists. The vaporized air tends to carry very less mineral impurities and other benign microorganisms that the reserved water may contain.
Impeller Humidifiers
A Cool Mist Humidifier, commonly known as the Impeller Humidifier, has a rotating disc that throws water to a diffuser. That diffuser breaks the water thrown to it into very small droplets which float into the air where it is being used. The water that is supplied to these humidifiers must be extremely clean since the same water is sprayed into the air that we breathe. If the water used is contaminated then there is a high risk of spreading diseases. But we should know one thing that these humidifiers make relatively more noise in comparison to other humidifiers.
Ultrasonic Humidifiers
Vacker Africa supplies Ultrasonic Humidifiers in various countries of Africa such as Kenya, Djibouti, Tanzania, Chad, Angola, Libya, Algeria, Niger, Congo, South Africa, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Morocco, Nigeria, Ghana, Congo-Pacific, Zimbabwe, etc. These humidifiers use the vibrating ceramic diaphragm in order to form water droplets that come out from the humidifier in the form of cool fog. The mini ultrasonic humidifiers have no fans which are generally made for personal use.
